NOMINATION OFFICIAL OPENED FOR THE 2018 6^TH ANNUAL AFRICAN HAIR AWARDS

Durban- Organisers of South Africa’s premier African hair event are pleased to announce that nominations for the 6th Annual African Hair Awards are officially opened and that the awards ceremony will be held at a new venue with the support of a new media partner.

“We are elated about the new additions to these awards aimed at recognising individuals and businesses in this multi-billion-rand ethnic hair industry. There are 30 categories to honour all those involved in the business of hair such as stylists, fashion influencers, brands and products,” says Ms Fatima Cele, founder of the African Hair Awards.

Ms Cele says she is equally pleased about the new partnership the organisers have secured with Independent Media Group, not only as media partner but as a shareholder in the event. This year’s event is scheduled to take place in December, in Durban, Kwa-Zulu. Nominations close on 14 September 2018. Further details will be released later.

The Annual African Hair Awards was established in 2012 and includes an exhibition dubbed the Africa International Hair Extravaganza. The awards and exhibition provide a platform for consumers and public to give recognition to professionals, brands, organisations and individuals who play vital role in the ethic hair industry. The industry also uses this even gauge and obtain valuable insights into needs and trends.
